Landscape
Exploring The Fallen

As a landscape photographer in the smallest state in the US, I return to the same places to photograph again and again.

Over the years, I have noticed countless changes in the environment. I “fall in love” with the trees and plants I see, looking forward to my next visit, to watching them grow.

As time has passed, many of these trees have met their end. Losing a beloved tree is akin to losing a friend, someone you’ve known for years who has watched you grow up, and you them.

The Fallen is an attempt to express the respect and reverence I feel for these trees. Without them, there would be no life as we know it on this planet.

Poetry & Writing

An avid writer, of both of poetry and essays, my favorite writing form is the senryu. A style of poem similar to a haiku, but which deals with human nature rather than Mother Nature. These short poems focus on the human condition, making readers think about life from a new perspective. Sometimes the writings are funny, sometimes tinged with sadness, and at other times they are simple declarations of what it means to be human in the modern world.

My explorations of senryu and short form poetry have been featured in national and international journals.

Having self-published my first book, Mystery & Manifestations, I am finalizing a second, Sojourn, which was a project created during a pivotal journey to the Pacific Northwest in 2025.

Sojourn Project

I’m thrilled to be published in the newest F-Stop Magazine. Out of 3,800 submissions, 375 were selected, including 3 of mine from project Sojourn. Learn more about the inspiration behind the project and view a selection of photographs.

Sarah runs a studio located at 47 High Street in Westerly, Rhode Island. You can find her working there and view artwork on display during open hours on Friday evenings or by appointment.

An award-winning fine art photographer and author, her contemplative photography has been seen in numerous exhibitions and galleries throughout greater New England as well as being published in local and national publications.

Fine Art Photography

As a Rhode Island photographer, my work explores the New England landscape through a natural lens. I work with old school film photography as well as alternative processes. My black and white landscape photography prints as well as my nostalgic color photography capture the heart of the places I explores.

Enamored with the coastal life, my newest landscape photography showcases the beaches, dunes, and sea of my native New England through the timeless aesthetic of cyanotype.

Bring the Rhode Island coast into your home. Visit the shop to explore the range of offerings.

Where Art Meets Spirit

Writings about the art world, including film and camera reviews, practical advice for creatives, behind the scenes stories, and personal reflections on life and art.

The Story Behind A Photograph, Part 1.

A foggy morning, an uncertain start, and a fleeting break in the clouds. Sarah’s reflection on a trip to Cape Cod traces how a photograph becomes more than an image, rooted in attention, memory, and presence.

Do you love art
that tells a story?

Are you looking for something truly special?

My unique landscape photography prints are more than just a snapshot. Each cyanotype is hand-coated with emulsion and exposed individually creating a original work of art. My black and white fine art photography prints are printed using archival inks with beautiful handmade paper. Every image is a story in itself: an observation of a peaceful moment in time, which has made its way from my lens to your walls.
