About Sarah

Sarah Lawhorne is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist who specializes in alternative and analogue photographic processes, as well as writing and poetry. A lifelong lover of photography and the written word, with a long-time interest in Taoist and Zen thought, Sarah fuses her spirituality with her art practice. Based in Rhode Island, Sarah travels the northeastern United States, and beyond, honing her craft. As a practitioner of Zen, she believes in the power of the quiet moments of life, in the peace and stillness that can be found in the Now, and much of her work is focused on this ideology.

In 2023, she completed an artist residency with Orein Arts in upstate New York. She has shown in numerous juried exhibitions around Rhode Island and the greater New England area, and is represented by Stonington Gallery in Connecticut and Candita Clayton Gallery in Rhode Island.
