About S. Lawhorne
Sarah Lawhorne is an award-winning fine art photographer and author whose work explores quiet moments of awareness. Her contemplative photography has been seen in numerous exhibitions and galleries throughout greater New England as well as being published in local and national publications.
Having self-published her first book, Mystery & Manifestations, Sarah is now finalizing her second, Sojourn, which was a project created during a pivotal journey to the Pacific Northwest in 2025. Her thoughtful poetry has been featured in national and international journals where she is recognized for her explorations of senryu and short form poetry.
Sarah runs a studio located at 47 High Street in Westerly, Rhode Island. You can find her working there and view artwork on display during open hours on Friday evenings or by appointment. Contact us to set up a time to stop by.

The Art of Letting Go
Analog & Alternative Processes
In December of 2023, I had a creative awakening. Inspired by an exhibition of Miho Kajioka’s photography in New York City, I abandoned my quest for technical perfection and dove into a new realm of possibilities exploring polaroids, toy cameras and cyanotype.
This creative journey became one of experimentation, surrender, and surprise.
