Regardless of your penchant for alcohol (myself being a nondrinker), bars can be a real part of our communities. There aren’t many places where one may feel as comfortable conversing with the strangers beside them as at a bar. Your neighborhood pub provides a place for people to gather, celebrate, mourn, and meet others. How many jokes have begun with “A guy walks into a bar…”, and how many stories involve the situations we find ourselves in during an evening out? Romance, friendship, entertainment and memories are made here. Likewise, there is a darker side to these establishments. They can be complicated parts of the towns we live in, but they are here to stay. Why not enjoy them?
