Sarah Lawhorne is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the quiet beauty of the natural world through fine art landscape photography and poetry. Her images invite viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect with moments of stillness often overlooked in everyday life.
Working primarily with natural landscapes, Sarah captures subtle shifts of light, texture, and atmosphere that reveal nature’s quiet presence. From mist rising over water to the gentle movement of grasses in the wind, each photograph reflects a deep attention to the small details that shape our experience of place.
Her creative process is deeply influenced by contemplative practice and a belief that art can create space for reflection. Rather than chasing dramatic moments, Sarah focuses on authenticity—those fleeting, peaceful scenes that exist between motion and silence. The result is a body of work that feels both grounding and timeless.
Sarah’s photographs have been featured in juried exhibitions throughout New England and have received recognition for their ability to evoke emotion through simplicity and restraint. Many of her works are available as limited edition fine art prints, carefully produced on archival materials to preserve the integrity of the image.
Collectors, nature lovers, and those seeking meaningful artwork for their homes and spaces are drawn to Sarah’s ability to translate the quiet rhythms of nature into visual form.

About Sarah
Sarah Lawhorne is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist who specializes in alternative and analogue photographic processes, as well as writing and poetry. A lifelong lover of photography and the written word, with a long-time interest in Taoist and Zen thought, Sarah fuses her spirituality with her art practice. Based in Rhode Island, Sarah travels the northeastern United States, and beyond, honing her craft. As a practitioner of Zen, she believes in the power of the quiet moments of life, in the peace and stillness that can be found in the Now, and much of her work is focused on this ideology.
In 2023, she completed an artist residency with Orein Arts in upstate New York. She has shown in numerous juried exhibitions around Rhode Island and the greater New England area, and is represented by Stonington Gallery in Connecticut and Candita Clayton Gallery in Rhode Island (and beyond).
